Designed as a grand family home, the Château balances shared spaces with intimate privacy. Fifty rooms and suites open onto luminous salons where echoes of sumptuous receptions still linger, adorned with Genoa leathers, 18th-century Chinese wallpapers, and ceilings adorned with Provençal gypseries. Every detail reflects the care of master artisans who blended the pastoral charm of Provence with a refined, modern sensibility.
A place steeped in history, Fonscolombe has been shaped by two illustrious families renowned in the sciences, medicine, and botany. Its gardens, home to 180 species of trees and plants, carry the legacy of the botanist Gaston de Saporta, while the Atlas cedar planted by the Queen Mother of England casts a serene shade across the grounds to this day.
After eighteen months of restoration, the Château reopens as a living testament to Provence’s elegance and vitality. Guided by Hélène Martel-Massignac, the project brought together heritage architects, designers, and artisans to revive the Château’s architecture and interiors, ensuring every corner reflects the poetry, history, and warmth of this exceptional estate.
