Built under the patronage of Her Imperial and Royal Highness Archduchess Maria Klotild of Austria in 1902, Matild Palace is a true Belle Epoque era icon introducing innovations ahead of its time. Designed by Kálmán Giergl and Flóris Korb, the demanded architects of the era who also built monumental buildings such as Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music and Palace of Justice, the palace is a member of the Györgyi-Giergl artistic family and it is a Unesco World Heritage site and under monumental protection since 1977.
The transformative interior design by the award-winning MKV Design will provide a journey through this imperial palace: Once the epicenter of the city, the royalties and elite, to a modern new playground for today’s discerning leisure and business traveler, self-confessed artisans of leisure, and local foodies. A carefully curated collection of 111 guestrooms and 19 suites, which includes the signature Crown Tower Suite and the Maria Klotild Royal Suite, with eclectic views of the Danube River, echoes the rich history of the palace and Hungarian culture complemented by personalized service.
