Rialto Score 9+

Rialto is a Virtuoso agency and can provide VIP access and offers.

Recently, Oranienstraße was chosen by "TimeOut Magazine" as one of the 30 coolest streets worldwide. And for good reason: in the heart of Berlin-Kreuzberg, life pulses with energy, cultures collide, and hip restaurants and snack bars line up next to queer bars and boutiques. Right here, in a historic corner building, you will find the Orania.Berlin hotel. Since its opening in 2017, the hotel has been operated with a lot of heart and personality by Jennifer and Philipp Vogel. The internationally experienced hotelier and the former Michelin-starred chef have transformed Orania.Berlin over the past seven years into a place that offers all the ad

About Orania.Berlin

Insider tip

Berlin’s best art galleries and restaurants are a short walk or bike ride away from the hotel.

In the hotel’s own words

The building at Oranienstraße 40, originally constructed as an office building, survived two world wars without major damage. Built in 1912, it initially housed the Café Oranienpalast on the ground floor for the first twelve years, where concerts and cabarets were held under the direction of Oscar Barton. Later, the building served various purposes, including a venue for readings and cabaret performances, a department store, a grocery store, and a nightclub, until business lawyer Dietrich von Boetticher purchased the property in 2008 and tasked his business partner, hotelier Dietmar Müller-Elmau, with developing a hotel concept.

This was not Müller-Elmau's first project of this kind, as the entrepreneur is also behind the renowned Schloss Elmau, a luxury hotel in the Bavarian Alps. It is no coincidence, therefore, that some parallels from Schloss Elmau can be found in Berlin – for example, the elephant that not only adorns the logo of both hotels but also a particularly luxurious fabric named Jehan Red. Müller-Elmau discovered this fabric many years ago in London at the renowned designer Andrew Martin and was immediately reminded of his favorite country, India. He promptly purchased all available rolls and used them in his hotel Schloss Elmau and Orania.Berlin. The elephant and the warm tones of the hand-woven, gold-red fabric repeatedly appear on cozy cushions, lounge seating, or the headboard of a bed.

An exclusive residential feel is also ensured by the untreated and solid real wood, with its natural grain patterns, used for the floors, cabinets, desks, and beds, making each room a true one-of-a-kind. Together with Schramm mattresses, sofas and armchairs from B&B Italia, handwoven Luribaff rugs from Iran, silk curtains from JAP, and golden wall and ceiling lights from Enzo Catellani, individual living environments have been created where guests can feel completely at ease.

A total of seven room categories are available: the smallest rooms measure 17 square meters and are particularly popular with business travellers who stay in Berlin for a short time. The two Family Suites, with their surroundings, huge windows and direct views of Oranienplatz, each Family Suite counts 131 square meters. All rooms are flooded with light and features warm lighting, stylish and high-quality furniture, and natural colours, offering particularly high comfort. A unique feature: dogs are welcome throughout the hotel, both in all rooms and in the lounge and restaurant areas.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does booking through Rialto cost more than booking with the hotel?

No - VIP rates under Virtuoso always meet or beat hotel's public, flexible rate, and provide valuable amenities and possible upgrades. Rialto also provides the hotel's non-VIP and corporate rates, so you can compare with full transparency.

What is the value of the VIP benefits?

Daily breakfast for two plus the $100 hotel credit come with every stay at this hotel - adding $100-200/day in value. A room upgrade could also be worth a substantial amount, in addition to early check-in / late check-out benefits when available.

How does this compare to other programs, like through AMEX Fine Hotels & Resorts, or Chase Edit?

Using a hotel's own VIP program may provide higher upgrade priority, additional VIP benefits and promotional rate offers, and a direct relationship with the hotel for special requests. Rialto offers more VIP hotels than any credit card program. In addition, Chase Edit rates can be substantially more expensive as they rarely run promotions whereas AMEX rates are often comparable but do not offer programs such as Upgrade at Booking.

Can my AI assistant book this hotel?

Yes. Connect Rialto to Claude or ChatGPT and ask for rates. You finish the booking on a secure Rialto page. Card details are not sent through the AI chat, so either you would approve the final checkout step and reconfirm all the information, or if you authorize your agent with Computer-Use permissions, it can fill out the checkout form as well.
