History In the 1990s, when SoHo became a glamour capital replete with luxury shopping, restaurants, spas and art galleries, Leonard and Emanuel Stern of Hartz Mountain Industries saw what was missing: a Grand hotel.
Design Bill Sofield, Cooper Hewitt Interior Design Award recipient and designer of retail boutiques for Tom Ford, Bottega Veneta, Yves St. Laurent and Gucci, has been collaborating with Soho Grand since its inception.
