History In 1145, the marriage of aristrocracy and piety brought about the abbey when the Lord of Valladolid's daughter Doña Mayor donated "terras et vineas" to the church. Abadía Santa Maria de Retuerta was built for the Premonstratensian Order. Baroque-Romanesque in style and is a treasured Spanish cultural heritage site.

In the ancient hall, LeDomaine's 27 guestrooms and 3 suites have been carefully renovated and styled to contemporary five-star standards with every amenity you would expect in a luxury hotel.
Each accommodation has generous views overlooking the sea of vineyards. All the guestrooms include original litograhps from Joan Miró.
Haute cuisine
Almost three years after it was opened and thanks to the excellent work by the kitchen staff, the Refectorio restaurant has been awarded its first Michelin star. The hotel’s head chef is Marc Segarra, who bases his culinary ideas on a creative interpretation of tradition and the use of local ingredients.
In 2020 the Michelin-starred Refectorio restaurant earned its first Green star, a five-leaf green clover symbol that the Michelin Guide is awarding to those restaurants that are committed to sustainability and use environmentally responsible practices.
Alternatively, the Vinoteca Restaurant, the hotel Gastrobar, offers tapas and informal Mediterranean cuisine, along with the Abbey Cloister Garden, outdoor terrace available during the Summer season.
The new branded open-air Wine Bar, Calicata, is located right next to the Abadia Retuerta winery.
Santuario Wellness & Spa LeDomaine
The former stable of the abbey has been transformed into a nurturing sanctuary of holistic healing and wellness.
The Spa’ facilities enjoy an indoor swimming pool and separate male and female wellness areas, including sauna, steam room, experience and thermal contrast showers and a relaxation room. There are 5 treatment cabins, including a fully equipped private Spa Suite, specially catered for couples.
The Spa Sommelier Experience combines the powerful healing properties of aromatherapy with Abadia Retuerta’s wines. One of the signature therapies of the Spa is meditation and healing through the Tibetan Bowls Experience.
Santuario Wellness & Spa won a Wellness Travel Award 2021 in the Most Unique category. This prize is given by Organic Spa Media, a leading international publication in health and beauty travel, with a focus on natural treatments and products.
Santuario Wellness & Spa has been awarded in 2022 as “Best Luxury Historical Spa” in Europe at the 2022 World Luxury Awards.
Abadia Retuerta Winery
Abadía Retuerta vineyard has been included in the Top 50 of the World’s Best Vineyards reaching 29 on the list, (3rd highest-ranked Spanish vineyard). From 2022 Abadia Retuerta vineyard has its own Protected Designation of Origin seal.
