About The Artist Grand Hotel of Art

Insider tip

Have breakfast on the terrace, which overlooks the Guggenheim Museum – a spectacular way to start your day.

In the hotel’s own words

The Artist, facing the Guggenheim Museum, expresses a contemporary concept. The avant-garde project is infected by its neighbour, the Guggenheim’s, activity, which is reflected on the Lookout Terrace, located on the 7th floor. The Terrace offers breathtaking views of the Guggenheim Museum and surroundings.

Accommodations: The Artist has 145 rooms and suites. Rooms are spacious and modern with views over the Atrium, interior courtyard, the quiet Lersundi Street, or Guggenheim Museum.

The Atrium - The atrium flooded with interior light is one of the elements that singularises the The Artist. On entering the visitor encounters a sculptural piece by Mariscal, the Fossil Cypress, that occupies the entire verticality of the building, from the floor to the skylight that crowns the terrace.

Olio Restaurant - Lead by Abel Corral offers a new and modern perspective of the Basque Gastronomy, with a big influence of the local product and its culture, but worked up with a personal style and thanks to the search of innovative flavours, textures and different contrasts.

The Gallery - Its interiorism is a homage to Bauhaus and the designers who stood out in the 20’s of the 20th Century. This is why it’s expressed in black and white and uses stainless steel, a material that reflects the trust in new technology that moved them. The crystallised closing turns into an open view of the urban street with the Guggenheim in full view.

Rooftop Terrace - A large terrace paved with teakwood from where unusual views of the Guggenheim and the Ría can be taken in, and a covered zone by a copper-latticed canopy that shelters those wishing to shelter high up, allowing the appreciation of the geography of a place where modernisation doesn’t prevent the natural countryside from strongly coming forth from where the urban landscape is interrupted.

Sixty-One Lobby Bar - The hotel's lobby bar is a sleek work of art appropiate for all occasions. Walls are filled with fame paintings and drawings, and a special piece overlooks the space from the ceiling.

Approximate driving distance from Bilbao Airport is 12 kilometers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does booking through Rialto cost more than booking with the hotel?

No - VIP rates under Virtuoso always meet or beat hotel's public, flexible rate, and provide valuable amenities and possible upgrades. Rialto also provides the hotel's non-VIP and corporate rates, so you can compare with full transparency.

What is the value of the VIP benefits?

Daily breakfast for two comes with every stay at this hotel - which could add $50-100/day in value, not counting any other VIP program benefits like room upgrades.

How does this compare to other programs, like through AMEX Fine Hotels & Resorts, or Chase Edit?

Using a hotel's own VIP program may provide higher upgrade priority, additional VIP benefits and promotional rate offers, and a direct relationship with the hotel for special requests. Rialto offers more VIP hotels than any credit card program. In addition, Chase Edit rates can be substantially more expensive as they rarely run promotions whereas AMEX rates are often comparable but do not offer programs such as Upgrade at Booking.

Can my AI assistant book this hotel?

Yes. Connect Rialto to Claude or ChatGPT and ask for rates. You finish the booking on a secure Rialto page. Card details are not sent through the AI chat, so either you would approve the final checkout step and reconfirm all the information, or if you authorize your agent with Computer-Use permissions, it can fill out the checkout form as well.
