The striking Grade II listed building became a flagship Sofitel in 2002 under the direction of world-renowned designer Pierre-Yves Rochon, who transformed the former bank into a sophisticated destination. More recently, Rochon was invited back to redesign the hotel's multi-million-pound renovation in 2019, adding new layers of comfort and luxury. The property's overhaul included a vibrant new design across its rooms, Rose Lounge, St James Bar, plus the addition of Michelin-starred restaurant Wild Honey St James.
